This Canvas course is the hub for all of our live and recorded training offerings. Enroll in the course to sign up for any of our live sessions: 

Introduction to Canvas 

  • This session will cover the basics of navigating Canvas, setting notifications, using pages and modules to structure your course content, and other tips to help you get started in Canvas. 
  • This session is 60 minutes. 

Assessment in Canvas 

  • This session will introduce the basics of creating assignments, quizzes, and discussion boards as assessment items in Canvas. We will also explore making rubrics and how to use SpeedGrader for marking your assessments. 
  • This session is 60 minutes. 

Creating Groups in Canvas

  • This session will teach participants how to create groups in Canvas and will explore the added features Canvas offers for groups.
  • This session is 30 minutes. 
Canvas Gradebook 
  • Canvas Gradebook works a lot differently than the Blackboard Grade Center did. We will go over best practices for using the gradebook in Canvas including hiding/showing grades, making additional columns, and weighted grading.
  • This session is 60 minutes. 

This self-guided Canvas course will review the basics of using Canvas including notifications, submitting assignments, using the inbox, attending online session through Zoom or Webex, and more. 

For those who are familiar with using Canvas, this session will offer tips and tricks on using Canvas assessments in novel or alternate ways and on providing quality feedback. We will look at different ways of assessing students’ knowledge, providing useful feedback to students and offer additional resources.

There will be opportunity to share your experiences with Canvas assessments.
